Is there a common methodology for trades? I want to trade lenses with someone but wonder if there is a way to do this so that both parties are comfortable and nobody gets ripped off.

I would second Atticus’s suggestion, unless you have personally dealt with the person before.

I think I've seen the suggestion to pay each other GS for protection and then refund after item is received...

This is not an official response, but you can do either as long as they are in the correct category. -However, if you are selling like 20 glasses at a time, then it would be appreciated that you put it all in one ad so you don’t take up the whole thread.
