Fake Badman & Madman Photos *Buyer Beware

Me too. It's my favorite pair and I wear em as often as possible since one year without any issues. I'm just careful as with all my glasses, nothing else.
The only thing I'm complaining about is the lack of oem replacement lenses, to make provisions for the future.
Last week I saw that replacement earsocks are available now on the o-site, but unfortunately BACKORDERED, grrrrr.
I wonder about replacement nosepieces, but lets see what time brings.

Harold, I agree completely. I think that when quality, well designed parts fail, there is a root cause. I.E. a screw up, such as sitting on them, having them fly off when travelling at speed.
But, if OAKLEY comes out with the Water PRIZMS for these glasses, they will be awesome. I don't know if it's because of my Radish-Kohlrabi shaped head, but I have no problem with light leaking into my MadMan shades.
The coverage is nearly as good as my old favorites, the almighty MOON. I was pleasantly surprised the first time that I put them on. I like the weight of them too. I was going to spend big money on a high-end pair of MARS, but I may buy a nice pair of Craters, and a few pair of MadMan with the higher end lenses.
Either that, or get a few more pair of the $150 MadMan, amd check out the Revant lenses. It looks like Revant is really trying to come up with high-end optics, and if OAKLEY doesn't, I'll have to give my money to the company who is providing the service or product that I need.
I can't help but think that OAKLEY is going to abandon the MadMan-BadMan lines with all of the bad press that they're getting. It could make for some real bargains for those of us who have discovered that the Mad-Bad lines are much better eyewear than they are being given credit for. I would ask Cycler-Doug. I think he has four or five pair of MadMan, and being an avid cyclist, Doug knows a quality pair of eyewear when he sees them.

Have you heard about the problem they have with the hinge breaking easily?

You should check out the Tailend, if you like comfortable pairs with round lenses and the coverage is even better than Mars and madman.

I don't like any Oakleys where the temples connect weakly to a thin lense with no frame. I learned my lesson there maybe 15 years ago with the original Zeroes. Durability was crap. My Zeroes were two months old andj I was reparing them with a hack saw and Super Glue. Although Cycler-Doug recommended Tailend, they are not for me. And I know that Doug knows his stuff.

They do have a half-frame behind the lenses. They're not like zeroes.

I have one pair of MadMan. I got the Pewter with Black Iridium Polarized. I really like 'em, and I won' be wearing them every day. Probably like once a week or less. I mainly wanted to own a pair because they're exactly the kind of Oakley product that keeps me wearing Oakleys. My Flak XLJ's and my Woodgrain Frogskins will be doing the heavy lifting. I do like having one pair of OAKLEY'S off-the wall shades to wear to pig roasts and keggers.
I just came in from walking my dog in pretty bright conditions. I wanted to try them after reading through this thread, and the only thing I can see is that light does come in pretty good from the sides. Sun direction is everything with MadMan, but they're cool enough to put up with one design flaw.
It's pretty easy to see that the reason the lenses are more flat instead of wrapped is their insistance on going with the fancy hinges. They could have easily gone with a regular hinge design that uses the frame as the stop. Then they could have brought the lenses around the face more, and probably teduced production costs a lot. I think we'll see a similar line of shades without the spring hinges before long. Maybe they'll even do us proud and bring back a Titanium alloy. With the money they save by losing the expensive hinges they can pay for better base metal. Oakley has reduced its wholesale cost to dealers so that they can sell out the pallets of Mad-Badman shades that are sitting around the world. They had to be wholesaling around $225 when they first came out. The box on my $139 shades is marked $390.
I bought my pair in the sealed box with case and all for $139 shipped, and I could see that price settling in around $109 before long. At that point, if I can get the flashier lenses for that, I will pick up about 4 pair. And why? Because even with their faults and all,of the bad rep, I like 'em. And with four pair waiting in the wings, I can wear them carefully every day and see if the hinges are all that bad. Actually, every time I handle them, the hinges seem like pretty high quality hardware. I guess that time will tell.

Wally thanks for the kind words, I'm no expert, certainly, but I use these glasses extensively and try many different models (both popular and not-so-popular!) and when I find a model that fits my needs and I like it I tend to stock up on it. Witness my 12 pair of Diadora cycling shoes that I rotate through and still don't get to them all...
I have a formula that I use on all my equipment, be it bikes or shoes or Oakleys...never abuse them (It's not the gear's fault that I suck, it's mine), and after EVERY use, whether it's 10 minutes or 6 hours, the gear gets cleaned thoroughly and readied for its next use before it's put away.
Following this formula I could get half a million miles out of an 84 Ford Escort.
;)

It has already...
HELP!!! Badman hinges
Badman down. Help!!
Do u think the new xmetal (madman, badman) preserve the worth the same as the classic ones?
Badman and Madman
Badman problems

Just a few examples from a quick search. There's more out there. And yes the badman and madman have the same hinges.

That said, I hope my two madmans last a long time.

I didn't see that. Thank You Mr Kronin! One thing that I really like about Tailend is the lense selection. One think I don't understand in the design. On the lower outside of the lense there's a little tab that sticks out. Is there any functionality to the tab, or do they just like the look. If they are just for looks, I think I would file those little tabs off. I think it would look better with an unbroken curve.
Now that ZI look at it, it probably adds a little rigidity to the lense at that point. Kind of like a stiff back.
