Neither. Just unscrew top corner of the top and slip strip light in. It's so flexible you won't have to worry about it getting squished.

Finally got a matco display thanks to an awesome forum member and new friend.....Also the tip from @the_owl for letting us know about it! Great group of guys here that made it possible

Here’s a tip. The motorcycle industry was one of the first avenues to sell Oakley! When Oakley changed hands a large number of dealers canceled accounts. They’re displays are chucked into storage…a great place to look!
