metal work

s-l400(2).jpgs-l400.jpg

i actually did figure out how to duplicate the XMETAL colorway. unfortunately it was not as easy as i had hoped and not possible for a truly DIY. i was hoping it would be possible to touch up scratches. in the end i can exactly replicate a scratched up piece but the frames need to be taken apart and smoothed before chemical process that creates the grey layer.

i did one of the orbitals on the formal juliets that i am selling so it is verified working. but my dumbass nicked the back of the nosebridge and i did not feel like taking them apart again to do it.

i will post some picks one of these days, just logging a work entry so i don't forget about it.

hello, could you tell me how this process works? I am Brazilian, I will try to use the translator.

Com um Sand Blaster a cerca de 100 psi / 6bar de pressão de ar.

did you use aluminum oxide for blasting?

You can turn every beater Frame into a brand new X-Metal finish.
I have done it with a Plasma Juliet and a Carbon Half-X.
