PS: An alternative is to use something like Snapseed to edit your photos (which I love to use for in-phone editing). In the settings you can specify the export resolution such as 1920 pixels wide (roughly what an HD TV shows which isn't that large). It's a little easier when you know the export is always going to resize it down for you.
