Had my first attempt at a dipped frame paint job.

Have to give credit to @qtrain23 and @Pumpkin King as their custom paint threads were a big inspiration for this one (admittedly my attempt is very amateur compared to their work)
Also a big thanks to @Wavecloud’s Customisation who has been very gracious in giving me tips and advise when I've had any questions about painting my M Frames.

Still figuring out how to get the consistency of the paint exactly right but I'm pretty chuffed with attempt 1, step 1. Now just to wait for this to dry, then a light water sand and clear coat.

Looks good man, dipping can’t be a funny thing. Believe me I’ve learned the water temp has lots to do with how well they turn out. Can’t tell you how many I dipped and they looked clumpy, had to strip off and start again

Yeah, I think this one is probably going to need to be stripped. The blacks were way too clumpy.

I made a secondary mistake today as well. Thought it was all good after 24+ hours of drying so I went to add clear lacquer. Immediate f*** up. The enamel has done some mad crazing.
Going to let this dry for a few days and see if it sands/buffs without totally destroying it, but it's most likely a strip down and back to the drawing board for this one 😂

I normally let the ones I’ve dipped set for a week before I try to put a top coat on. I know a lot of people look at it as a no no but I use goof off to strip everything of the frame, wash well afterwords and let dry before starting all over again. I white flat as a base coat (I use a primer + paint), it helps the colors show up move vibrant then trying to paint over something dark without having to do multiple coats. Again, once dipped let them dry for minimum of a few days. I normally do a week because I’m traveling with work during the week anyways.
