R1 Lenses - some not fitting

So, I finally managed to get my hands on a pair of Polished R1's. Now apparently they've been plated, not polished.. Anyway, full of excitement I tried to use a spare set of OEM lenses I've used in my 2nd gen plasmas, but they don't fit.. It's not a gen 1, but for sanity sense I tried a set of OEM lenses from a pair and they also didn't fit.

I then tried some Linegear lenses, they also don't fit. They fit in the sides, but it's the nose piece where I experience the issues.

Has anyone else experienced this? Short of sending the frame to someone to custom cut lenses to fit perfectly I'm not sure what else I can do.

Is there any remnants of the serial number left on the nose bridge? By Gen 1, do you mean the 4 digit (aka Jordan R1)? The only thing I can think of is somebody took one of those and did this work to them as they have slightly different orbitals which use a smaller lens than all other 5 digit+ R1's.

Nothing left of the serial. I can tell they're not first gen due to the arm shape.

Perhaps the plating is “a little thick”, and lenses will need hand sanding/fitting?

Put some Eye Jacket Gen.1 lenses in.
EJ Lenses are a little bit smaller than first Gen. R1 Lenses.

Those lens look like they are installed backwards

I think you should have the Chrome removed.
Have it polished with a buffing wheel for electropolishing
