White Hard Case Question

I have a black hard case similar to this, with nothing in it:

And I purchased a white case, but it has this foam inside the lid:

Did the white case ever come empty, like the black case? If not, is it possible to remove this foam without making a mess?

It’s only glued In there by a few spots. If you pull on it, it should come out in one piece

So a little update on this:

I suggest you don’t remove the foam. It’s glued in all around and underneath with extremely strong adhesive.

Even with all the foam , the glue has sharp points sticking out that could possibly damage glasses, even through a microfiber bag. The inside area of the icon doesn’t have the cover a standard case has, so the connection points are sharp and exposed.

Standard case:

A better option MIGHT be to cut the interior out of the foam with a razor to make room, while leaving the edge of the foam to protect from the glue.

Further Update:

After the last post, I tried Goo Gone to no avail. Then I tried using a screwdriver to remove the large chunks of glue, but it went through the fabric liner. Then I tried removing the fabric liner, and it came off pretty easily, removing the glue with it.

Not sure if the Goo Gone made the liner easier to remove or not, since I only added it to one piece of the case, but maybe it absorbed into the fabric and spread? In any event, I can now put new felt into the case and use it, so that’s another optional solution.
