American Tariffs and Import Fee's

As a gift, of course.
Then the person sending the package will have to pre-pay the tariff. I tried many values before actually printing a lable. Anything over 80 bucks or so and he'll be paying for sure. That 25% sucks....$700 US is like a thousand Canadian so you can plan on 250cad at the very least. I'm sure he wouldn't cover that for you. and it would toss up big red flags inbound to your customs. Also things that get shipped internationally that are declared that high risk themselves being stolen..I know here Canada post won't insure things beyond a few hundred dollars. Otherwise you have to get a secondary insurance. Which will also cost a bunch for your seller. If the issue is worrying about losing the package or paying taxea with all this. I would just look to buy something within your country. Its why I only sell to people I know here and who understand the risks involved...or who i have had major deals in the past with. Its so complicated now with the zonos numbers and all questions they ask pre-shipment. For me its worth selling to my American friends. There is a trust factor too. I believe i have gained that here myself over he years. I don't know if your seller would be keen on all this but....Anyway good luck..

I had AI sum everything up for us. Things might change if Brazil negotiate, but regardless, anything from Brazil just got crazy expensive after Aug 6th

Damn, that's a real headache. Still, at least you've got a reasonably deep internal market.

For those of us outside of the US, getting a tuneup on X-Metals could be an absolute minefield. Is there anyone in the UK doing them currently?

I can recommend @alol for uk based tune-ups.
It may be dependent on the availability of spare parts at this time, though....

I had another successful delivery yesterday. Shipped a 1350USD crater to a buyer in the Detroit area with no issues. Its working heading that way like it has for us here over the past decade or so. The stops at the border just seem to be taking slightly longer. Definitely doable without getting smoked with fees.

Yes, I believe so as well as Craig from the facebook buy/sell uk page.

I sent two parcels with a tracking to the US yesterday. I have to pay pre-tax aka Landed Cost each (11.4$ for a declare 40$ and it can not be labeled Gift but Goods for sale! And if you declare the cost of goods more pay more pre-tax) and postal staff said they doing so so the receiver in US wont pay a tax. So frustrating and this is costing more. EMS from Cambodia to US before total like 50$, now just a parcel with a tracking cost 51.4$.

Now EMS cost alone is 60$ plus pre-tax.

There was a suspension of mail to the US for about a year and Cambodia Post just resumed this month.

I guess we have to get used to it.

- - -

(Landed cost) = Pre-Tax paid 45.700 KHR = 11.42$

Total shipping fee 192.700 KHR = 48.17$

Conversation rate 1 USD = 4.000 KHR, Khmer Riel (Cambodian currency).

Did you enter USA as 'country of origin' when filling in the customs paperwork?
If it was an Oakley item that was genuinly made in the USA, it should be exempt. This is inline with the current US tariff rules to 'encourage' Americans to buy American.

This works when buying postage online in the UK but I have yet to put this into practice when sending an item - I have only 'tested" the process.

I was not able to do much; I was guided step by step by the postal staff. Even putting a label name, even a product code kind of HS code. In the end, it was sunglasses part. I was told Cambodia Post complies with US rules, after one year suspension due to rules change, and that pre-tax is collected to be paying the other side.
