Definitely sad to have missed out on this bundle, especially knowing it went down to $248.
Assuming they used the (less brittle than original) current O-matter, on the first version rerelease (not the Redux), any knowledge of what to look for if someone is selling OG vs new O-matter OGs?
Not a fan of the Satisfy or other collabs, but would like the OG in updated material.

Pictures of inside the arms comparing vintage to rerelease would be helpful :)
Thanks

The original Eye Jackets (circa 1994-98), used the 1st O-Matter, which becomes brittle over the decades since. It is a 'curse' which affects some, but not all sunglasses from this era. I've experienced this 'curse' myself. A Frogskin and Eye-Jacket had just broken, stored away, so no impact can be blamed.
The later version, New Eye-Jackets, we're made using a modified O Matter. But also, modified hinges, which was a bane of the first Eye-Jackets. Squared hinges were the problem, which took less abuse and general wear and tear: also found on Trenchcoats, Topcoat and Moon.
The Rounded hinges were so much better, including the new O-matter used . They could take more impacts and wear, yet still retain their integrity.
The recent iterations(collaberations) use the newest O-Matter, so will be stronger, including a Rounded hinge and removable Icons(I believe, but don't know for sure).

Thank you for the tip about hinges!

Is the second gen (round hinge 1999-2004) also known to be the same O-matter as the current rerelease/colabs? Or also a different formula and known to be any less durable than the present O-matter?

Asking because the 2024 rerelease of the original mold w/round hinges in silver in the link above (still sad I missed that sale price) could look similar on the inside to genuine deadstock vintage 99-04’s, but am wondering if there is any way to tell if they’re a vintage two-and-a-half decades old pair or from the seemingly limited run of 2024 reproductions when buying third party if I finally find a pair to wear.
(Not wanting to risk breaking a ‘94-‘98 gen 1 frame)

Anything made after ‘99 will be the newer O matter. They added nylon to the plastic to give it more flex and overall durability.
