Finally... I completed my first pin-based X-Metal tune-up!

They arrived back home today. All I have to say is that they look like new. For being your first tuneup, you knocked it out of the park. They are perfect! I can’t thank you enough for the awesome work and care that you put into them.

It's my pleasure buddy... I'm glad it went smoothly. Not every repair/rebuild will go smoothly, but it's nice to get one under my belt.

Wow, first delamination and now loose bridges? I guess if you don't wear them they still need TLC.

That's why we have to wear and enjoy them, because they are deteriorating either way.

You put 2 washers on the top and bottom? That is hard to accomplish.

If you're gonna put in four washers per side, you need to spread those orbital tabs apart just a little. Use a little grease to hold everything in place.And a toothpick to align before you push in the screw.

This wire helps me a lot to determine if everything is properly aligned. It's like a trial pin so you can determine the tightness and if the orbital is moving up and down.

You can use the tail end of an .080" drill bit too. But let me tell you when you go to install the pins, you better not move anything.When you pull that drill bit out.
