FUSE RX Nightmare

So I took them to the highest rated optometrist shop in my area (major metropolitan) and asked for an inspection and evaluation. She said with the base curve on these, that their shop wouldn’t be able to do much better and they are acceptable. I did show them the previous photos and they cringed.

If you can do better in an aggressive wrap like these or similar, I’ll let my brother know, as he said he may want another pair but hates flat-style sunglasses.

We will obviously never go to Fuse again, but the third time produced something he could wear in a frame he liked. I asked Oakley, and they said they won’t put RX lenses in these frames.

I’ve seen RXs in Juliets, Twenty XX and even Minutes. So I’m still unsure whether it’s his specific RX or if there are some true optical wizards out there.

Lessons learned:

Contact Chris H first.

Temper expectations proportionate to base curve.

Avoid Fuse.

And thanks for all the help to everyone who commented. My brother says thanks, and I really appreciate it.
The only other option is to purchase a sports wrap sunglasses that can attach an RX insert behind the wrap sunglasses. This allows the RX to be done in the proper Base Curve and not interfere with the function of the sunglasses. I have fabricated sunglasses this way and it works well. Not sure Oakley offers this option, but there are other manufacturers that have this available.

I do believe M-Frames and possibly Radars have this option; essentially a second lens insert behind the shield
