GENERATION QUESTIONS

Depends on the model and color way... Gets pretty complicated cause like a XX plasma had two gens... good luck finding the 2nd at all there were so few while the X metal XX had technically 5 and then you have Juliets.... Ohhhh boy... we would be here all day dividing up which ones had how many gens... if a X metal ran the full course from start to finish of production the most gens are 5
1. Serialized
2. Serialized A
3. Serialized B
4. no serial
5. Sku
This is the right answer. Each model and colorway had their own Generations. And these are determined by revisions in the frame.

As an example I would consider R1:
xmetal
Gen 1 - “Jordan” smaller orbital 4 digit serial
Gen 2 - 6 digit Serial squared stems
Gen 3 - 6 digit serial rounded stems.

I think a good way to look at gens also helps with authenticity and integrity of the pair. somone selling you. Jordan R1 with rounded stems is either clueless or devious.

I know that as the so called generations increased the quality got better.1st gen polished isn't as refined as the later stuff.but the square vs rounded X-Squared frame still has me totally baffled.

Smaller orbitals, rounded and squared stems? I had no clue these differences even existed. I’ll search now but is there a photographic comparison somewhere? 😳

With X metal frames each one is different.a couple years ago I had a pair of juliet sisters with sequential numbers to install lenses.one set fit good the other did not.swapped them to the other pair and still loose. I think it may have something to do with the cooling process when they're pulled out of the mold.

Excuse me for the imput.
Not my own photos, just a screen shot I saved.
Don’t have any exemple of the rounded stems
for make comparison but this is the for Romeo “Jordan”, the more square one.

It varies between models in my experience. Frame changes and finishes are the most obvious reason and also the casting methods from the original ‘sand cast’ pieces ( rough in places with obvious imperfections ) to the later ‘lost wax’ ( more uniform / smooth ) productions.
