How do I service my new Time Bomb?

Hi everyone,

I recently got my hands on an ion-plated Time Bomb 1 with the black face. I have wanted this watch for years, basically since it first came out but I was far too young to afford one. The one I received is a little scuffed up, but as far as I can tell, the movement is functioning perfectly.

I tried to take it to a watchmaker to look it over and replace the gaskets as well as the battery/capacitor, because I've read that the original capacitors often go bad. Only trouble is no local watchmaker near me will touch the thing, saying they don't work on these types of watches.

I've done some research here on the forum and have read through some incredible threads written by users who've taken it upon themselves to repair their own Time Bombs. However, I simply don't have the time or the resources to take on such an extensive project on my own. So with that, does anyone know of any watchmaker within the US that services or specializes in Oakley watches? Preferably one that won't charge me more than the price of the watch itself.

Thanks everyone!

I am sure there would be members on here who could also do it....
Would you mind pointing me towards members who would be willing to do the job? Frankly, I'd rather trust enthusiasts who have real experience with Oakley timepieces than a professional but Oakley-inexperienced watchmaker. Thanks!

A Seiko watch is a Seiko watch, no matter what clothes it is wearing. Any Seiko watchmaker should be able to help you out.

Fair enough! I felt kind of antsy about it because many of the shops in my area that I visited turned me town, even ones that advertised that they worked on Seikos. I believe they were under the same impression as me that this was a proprietary movement, especially with the way "Oakley Inertial Generator" is engraved on movement, haha.
