I don't collect sunglasses just for the sake of collecting and keeping them behind a glass display, I buy them to wear them.

There are a couple of exceptions though, ones I simply didn't feel like wearing yet for whatever reason, specifically the MUZM and the Xeus pairs.

As I had some time today, I snapped a few quick pics and thought I'd share what I bought over the years as well as mention the ones I no longer have, even though I didn't keep any picture(s) of them.

I bought my first pair of Oakley in 1997, it was an E Wire (Gen 1) - Black Chrome - lost in 1999.

That same year, 1999, I got a Romeo - X-Metal/Black Iridium - then let it go about a year later because reasons.

In 2002, I got my favorite X-Metal frame (right next to the Romeo), the Penny, seen below:

That same year, I ended up getting this Scar:

After a few months of wearing the Scar, in the sun and a very humid environment, the red on the arms started to fade and show black underneath. I was on one of my trips back home and the warranty had already expired, I showed them to a friend who owned a sunglasses store and she got in touch with an Oakley agent who confirmed it was a known issue and offered me a new replacement despite the warranty having expired.

Riding that good luck wave, I asked if there were any X-Metal frames in stock - it was a time where I couldn't find any where I was, back then, or during my trips - and the agent confirmed they had one last Juliet in stock. I wanted a Romeo initially, instead of the one I had let go, but they weren't getting any anymore at that point. When I inquired as to why, the reply was that they weren't selling well given the weight/price etc...

As the picture below shows, Juliet found its way to me after that conversation, that was in 2003:

In 2004, one of my best friends was whining that he was getting weird looks whenever he wore the Plate Platinum/24K Gold Iridium in public, and offered me to take them if I didn't mind them being beaten up... as the picture implies, I didn't mind:

Every now and then, I would try looking for a Romeo or a second pair of Penny throughout my trips but no luck.

Fast forward to 2015, I bought for the first time online rather than in store a Straight Jacket - Matte Black/Gray Polarized - turned out to be too small so gifted it.

In 2021, I bought two pairs, one Savitar - Satin Chrome/Prizm Black Polarized and one New Whisker - Carbon/Prizm Black - sold both recently cos stopped liking them that much.

A few weeks later, I got the Clifden MVP Exclusive - Matte Red/Gold Shift/Prizm Snow Black Iridium - sold it as soon as I got it in hand cos didn't like wearing it.

A few days later, I got another Savitar - this time Satin Black/Prizm Sapphire Polarized - also sold recently when I stopped liking it.

The next day, I ordered the New Whisker - Limited Edition Spanish MotoGP - Brushed Grenache/Prizm Tungsten:

And the day after that, I got the New Whisker - Satin Chrome/Prizm Sapphire Polarized - which (if you've been reading this far, have come to know what to expect in the absence of a photo) I sold recently due to no longer liking it.

Then I got these Satin Black/Prizm Deep Water New Whisker:

December 2021, I ordered the MUZM Eye Jacket & Eye Jacket Redux Bundle, haven't really worn them for more than a few seconds as I prefer some of the other models I have:

Fast forward to July 2022, I got the Xeus:

Same as with the previous MUZM pairs, not worn for more than a few seconds, this time because Pepper Potts objected.

Last year, I ordered the MUZM Sub Zero - Matte Grey Smoke/Prizm Snow Torch - sold it cos again, Pepper Potts didn't like them on me.

Between October 2024 and February 2025, I ended up buying every single Plantaris model, including the Satisfy collab, but only kept these two:

Shortly after, I ordered this custom Eye Jacket Redux - Matte Transparent Pacific/Prizm 24K Iridium Polarized. Whether I keep them or let them go is yet to be determined.

I went a little bit nuts with the buying, sometimes just because I got a deal.
Definitely wearing them, but one man can only wear one pair at at time, unless it is the weird guy I see who wears them backwards on his neck. So strange!

I definitely have a problem, but I am starting to list some of the full-rims for sale now, because I am attempting to move exclusively to half-rim designs.
