Oakley Tailend: Now in Titanium

Hmmm…soooo…should I look for an old titanium…drats just missed one…or look at one of these?

Advice appreciated!

Original were only C5 metals not Ti
They are a beautifully crafted frame however, that is why I love the design.

The Tailend was the only design I loved the most when they originally came out, the Aviator versions grew on me over time

Thanks for the Intel. I shoulda bought the Tailends @SecretNinja recently offered

When I look at Tailends now I do get a mild MARS vibe. I dismissed them…probably unfairly…as I got a pair of SubZeros and thought they were just too trendy looking on stuffy ole me…which I have to laugh at as I sport croc wrapped Craters…. Guess I consider MARS more Sci-Fi cool than trendy.

I’m on the fence as how good a fit the Tailend will be for me…so am hesitant to drop full price for a new pair.

After recently purchasing a Ti Frogskin…I’m doing curiosity reconnaissance on other Oakley Ti frames out there. But would want real Ti. I like the lightness and metal look.

Which begs the question…on the new ones…wonder if one could sandblast em back to raw titanium look?

Same vibes I had when I first laid eyes on the Tailends back in 2015, kind of a hommage towards the X metal Mars design and also felt like it was a sneek peek into how maybe a metal Subzero could have birthed at some stage. It was just different.

Ti Frogs are very nice also, never got into the standard frogs but Ti is a favourite metal for myself and just had to get some pairs, fit/feel and weight all seem to go hand in hand with the Ti Frogs.
Holbrook Ti also gives me the similar feel but I think they are slightly more designed for people with larger head, certainly don't hug my temples as much as I would like them too, but none the less very well crafted in appearance and am also impressed with them.

You just sent me down an hour long rabbit hole trying to see if these are out yet and if I can get a pair!! Sadly nothing yet. I completely missed the launch of the originals as I had focus on other things back then, but now that I have discovered these beauties, I have begun to collect all of the "tails"

Can't wait for a NIB Ti pair!!

I’ve always considered this a highly underrated model.
I saw some photos of the lenses—does anyone know where to get those? I’d definitely pick up a titanium frame if I could install lenses like that in it.
