Hi everyone.

I'm looking to buy a pair of Oakley Romeo 1s and I've been doing some research on their authenticity.

I've been consulting here in the forum about of the serial number.

In this thread:

For curiosity I also used Google Gemini to cross-reference some data, and it raised a few major red flags that I'd like to confirm with the experts here.

The Serial Number (050458):
I was informed that this specific number is a 'known fake' serial often used in high-end replicas (Grade A/ AAA). I've seen mentions that this exact code pops up frequently in marketplace scams globally.

Is '050458' indeed a confirmed fake serial? Searching on my own I found no information about the serial number in this regard.

The seller is offering them with iust the microfiber bag, no box or X-Meta coin.

Thanks

i'll post the photos in that thread to verify the romeo, but my question its more about the especific serial number, something like "Serial number black list" that was cloned.

I guess the gemini its more paranoic that me

Can you show a screen shot of where it says a particular serial number has been used on fakes - I have never seen any fake X-Metal with a correctly formatted serial number.....

As for this pair you have pictured - all features indicate to me that it is a genuine pair.

Sure, here is the share link from my gemini

I won't doubt you, who have been collecting for much longer than me, it just seems curious to me.

I tried asking Chat GPT the same question and they answered the same thing about the serial number.

I'm going to ask the seller for better photos tomorrow.

Apparently Gemini doesn't like that anyone has Romeo 1 in their collection, I did the same test with legitimate serial numbers that I got from here and it says that they are all fake.

Thanks for your answers friends, you can close the thread, now I'll go laugh at myself 🤡

The Gemini link does raise some valid points but it also gives some mis-information....

Saying early frames didn't have 'CE' markings is incorrect; this relates to earsocks.
