The Jamin Jannard Rarity Sale Discussion Thread

I think it is just an inside joke. Yes everyone knows who bought all the pairs, but passing it off to other members that we all know wouldn't pay that type of $ for a Frogskin is part of the charm of the joke.

I thought people already knew this ;)
There is a thin line between inside joking and lying. Clearly we all aren't on the same page lol

I see both on the forum and in other social media, people are posting claims of who the buyer really is.

It comes down to this - regardless of if his motivation was to play a joke, to maintain privacy, or some other reason, the fact is he chose to remain anonymous and represent these purchases via proxies. I respected his wishes. It's unfortunate that others couldn't do the same. If the buyer wanted to make his identity known, he could have done it himself, he didn't need Nancy Drew to come to the rescue.

Anybody miffed about the deception, apologies but really it wasn't about you. People have the right to remain anonymous if they so choose, and the use of proxies in the "real world" is quite common for this purpose.

So let's move on from speculation about the buyer and get back to discussing the items up for auction. That, and banning Dingo...

For me it wasn't about needing to know who won. I was just excited for the winners and thought it was really cool @kronin323 got one and @Rustpot got the other.

I respect the use of proxy and wanting to remain anonymous. I just didn't catch onto the joke and that's my bad. I never know when people are serious or being sarcastic it seems like.

Folks got a call on the Collette. Big money or regular price. I used to have one of the 100 but none of the 3 pairs were ever me.. I still have the one but only cuz it's blue chrome. A first release Collette should go no further than 700 but we'll see what that first of the 100 will bring just with a statement. Jj told me to hold on for a crazy few surprises. Maybe this is the calm before the boom.
