Is there any way to prevent patina for copper?
you can technically coat it in some wax or oil, but ultimately no not really, do u know if the coin is solid copper? i used to be a copper smith so was wondering about making some custom blue patina penny coins

No clue, I bought no box or coin pairs of xmetals. I would like to learn more about your trade via PM.

I think anything that would create a barrier between the coin and oxygen should work right? I'm thinking a thin layer of some sort of lacquer would be fine for display purposes and you could dissolve it and remove it with an organic solvent of some sort without damaging the metal if you wished to remove it. Just thinking out loud.
