X metal lenses question

Hi all,

I have a few really nice mint x metals and was wondering on what people think about taking out the original lense and keeping them in a safe box then swapping them for some aftermarket lenses to wear that doesnt matter if u scratch?

i was thinking especially for the romeo 1, buy some aftermarket lenses so i can wear them without worrying about damaging them

Is this a done thing ??

I just got a mint serialised xmetal ruby penny and want to wear them. Just so scared to scratch the original lensss. Ill order some now

I'd wear them as they are. I have not found aftermarket lenses with the optical quality of the original
What's the point of keeping them pristine if that means you'll never get to use them?

My only thinking is that if i come to sell them down the line then ill be guaranteed to be able to say mint condition lenses.

Revant Elite or Linegear NXT are quality lenses that you can use without fear of damaging originals.
This would be my option...

...or maybe get yourself custom cut oakley lenses? You can keep the factory ones with potential future sale in mind and still enjoy the same quality wearing custom cuts.
