Any Sneakerheads In The House?

I’m somewhat of a sneaker-head, more as in my history knowledge than how many pairs I have sitting in my home. Though I’ve owned a great sum of Jordan’s in my life but I wear them as daily’s/beaters.

Currently on feet atm are some Jordan 4 Bred/Black cement reimagines from 2024. It’s crazy to say that I’ve been wearing these for a little over 2 years.

I also have a pair of Travis Scott Jordan 1 lows. To be more specific, the medium olives. I was surprised I was able to hit for retail on the nike snkrs app. I also own a pair of 1985 Nike Vandal Highs. I know this seems like a random shoe to own, especially one that’ll be 41 years old this year, but it is because I have it in a specific colorway. If anyone has seen the original terminator film from 1984, the hero of the story, Kyle Reese, steals a pair when he arrives to the past after time traveling. His color way is of Black, white, and metallic silver, which is the same one I own as well. I also have an extra pair that I’ve been meaning to fix up so I can have one as a true beater shoe.
I got the Stussy Vandals.Kinda the "we got Kyle Reeses at home" because it's been a long minute since the actual colorway has released.

I was getting into the mid-80's bunch of Nike Basketball shoes, and my understanding is this was a "multi-sport" shoe. The way he's depicted finding them in a bin in a department store instead of a box we pretty much always see....was it really that way back then for this shoe?

Either way, the Vandal is one of those prime examples of a sneaker just being a sneaker. Can wear it for like any reason and it never is uncomfortable.

Also tried the Nike Terminators (the model, not the movie or based colorway) from the recent release run. Those are also an underrated shoe.

I love the delivery of this and framing it as this. I was going to originally buy a pair but I couldn’t bring myself to do it because that random material they decided to make the Nike check just felt weird for me, along with the strap that used at the ankle. Yet I’m ironically going to have to purchase a pair and use the soles as a donor for my fixer-upper pair that I have.

Maybe I should give those Nike terminators a shot. I’ve always seen them sitting at certain stores and I’ve been kind of wanting to branch out my shoe game.

I got the more common GR pair when they were moving for like less than $50. It is cheaper material (good old Nike quality), but what surprised me is the padding was pretty substantial. The shoe to me looks long/tall, and I expected something absolutely dull, but relatively speaking, I'd say it was more comfortable than a Dunk or AF1.

UNC 14s came in today. I'm not really seeing the ashiness people are getting on their pairs. I don't think they need the mink oil treatment or anything and they look dark enough for me. I didn't have any 14s and I was holding out for the Last Shot's to come back out, but I caved and got these.

I just hate that Nike/Jordan size 13 shoes don’t fit me right 😂 Getting size 13 is already a task and 14 is no easier.
Yea I hate no 13 1/2 sometimes that would be the way for me to go but pretty much 13’s work for me as I don’t wear most of them. My favs right now is the Jordan fear 3’s. But I’ve been wearing 95’s lately.

I feel like the independent media exaggerated the ashiness only because wasn't necessarily some kind of finer suede. Maybe it doesn't match the original release, but that's nothing new for Jordan brand. I believe the WC4's were actual durabuck before. Lighting 4's and Toro 5's don't have the same saturation as before. Some of these releases it's just like....some haven't been back in like 10-20 years. Can only complain so much when the bottom line is either finally having the shoe or not.

Face box is a nice return.

I'm pretty fixed on the space I can make for 14's. Got the Last Shots, the Black Toes, retired my 2016 Indiglo (my first AJ retro ever) because the lace loops are giving out and I think there was a peeling panel or something with the outsole.

Mind is only keeping space for another Indiglo, and the Oxidized green, which also released in 2016 at the same time, and exists as the "what-if" I picked that instead. It'd be nice as a personal throwback to find out I could have both when at the time I was questioning if I could really afford one.

I'm not the biggest stickler for it being the exact OG shapes and materials as long as it looks good to me.

As for the 14's I strongly prefer the ribbed side panels though. If the Last Shots come back I'll pay resell or whatever I have to to get a pair of those. I would probably also try to get the candy canes even though they are mostly white. A lot of the other colorways don't really interest me. The Indiglo's are pretty cool though.

A lot of people think the Last Shot will be back out in 2028 for the 30th anniversary of the OG release. That being 2 years out is another reason I jumped on this colorway.
