Are these Plasma or Polished?? XX

Question for the X-Metal X-perts

I've been searching for a pair of Polished XXs. Trying to be patient and wait for another pair to pop up on here, but I've also been window shopping on eBay.

The seller "Make-a-Statement" is very highly rated and I'm sure quite a few of us have bought from them before; as they specialize in Oakley and X-Metals. I personally purchased a pair of Juliets from them with zero issues. Excellent seller.

Here's my question; I've been watching a polished pair of XXs ( Oakley XX Polished Finish-Carbon Black Polarized Lens+Xtra Lenses+Vault+Soft Bag | eBay) they have for sale, but I just yesterday noticed that they had a "Plasma" pair for sale (Oakley XX Plasma Finish-Fire Polarized Lenses Lenses+Vault+Soft Bag | eBay). The Plasma pair has no serial number because, "Later models did not have serial numbers".. But it is my understanding, that ALL Plasma XX should have a serial number, as they were only produced early in the XX production run, before they discontinued serial numbers?

On top of that, they LOOK (to me at least) to be more polished/refinished than Plasma (I own a XP pair of XXs with matching box). My Plasma XXs are darker, more matte. These look almost identical to the "polished" pair they are selling, they are brighter and shiner (and even appear, to me, to maybe have some refinishing marks on them?).

What say you guys? Plasma, or refinished/polished being passed off as Plasma? Top pic is the "Plasma" pair, bottom is Polished.

Well for one thing Oakley never made a polished XX, only a plasma, which only had a 1st generation run, then was discontinued. All polished XX that you see are custom done by people. So all you have todo is find a pair of XX and literally half the price what the guy is selling on eBay, and have one of our members that do customs polish them for you

I am aware that they did not do polished and those are all custom.

Just wondering if the pair I referenced is actually Plasma or not.

from the pictures they first one looks like Plasma, the second looks like plazma also, either that or a bad polishing job

Well that conversation and this thread were both on the same day, and you said "I have never seen a later generation Plasma frame" which certainly insinuates that but also leaves open the possibility that there ARE later generation Plasma frames, that you haven't seen. Nortikas statement that, Plasma "only had a 1st generation run, then was discontinued" was more concrete, cut and dry, end-of-discussion, unambiguous.

I was also trying to find a polite way to respond to his post and re-ask the question, since his original answer was more "how to get a polished pair of XXs" and less what I was looking for (does this SPECIFIC pair look like plasma or polished), and thanking him for confirming prior information I had, that I suspected as true, seemed like a good way to do that.
