Best Luxottica Oakley Releases in your opinion?

Do Jupiter's count (2008 release I think)? Or would they still be mostly pre-Lux Oakley design & build?

I feel the original Jupiter & LX will last as a user wearing design, if not for collector value.
- Better Oakley optics
- A good modern update on the classic Wayfarer-Frogskin lineage, that still uniquely keeps the keyhole nosebridge
- More wrap around the edges = better coverage/less light leakage
- Good array of base colours to stay subtle & classic; or opt for the artists, signatures or colourful lenses to turn heads when wanted

Plus a personal win, a design that fits my small asian face!

No- that was in development already. IMO you can count on many new frames having been in the design stages for probably at least 2-3 years before they release. That's why I say anything that was 2008 to 2010 even 2011 I consider in large part to be pre-Lux. I find such a development timeline telling because that means the lack of much of anything interesting the last 3 years means that once Lux truly took a hand in designing (say 2010, 2011- right about when they killed of the metals, moved manufacturing to China etc) things went stale/south.

Things I've loved:
*Prizm lenses (snow, dwp, road, waiting on swp)
*Carbon Shift (even though the plastic parts feel cheap)
*Jupiter Squared if those count
*Pitboss 1
*Gascan (my go to set for doing stupid thing)

I do have a couple of holbrooks and while they are cool, I do think they are not worth what Oakley asks for them in the store (got mine at fleabay for half price)

Im gonna say the Tinfoil and Tincan were the best, or better stated, more innovated. Like most of the new stuff though it was sticker shock when they came out. I also liked the new Canteens but again, $190 for a polarized version when launched kept me from buying till a good deal came along. Some of the new technology in the lenses is nice but I'm not so excited about a lot of the newer frames.

As Luxottica Oakley continues to become more of an apparel company and less a sunglasses brand, I really can't see any models in their current line-up becoming "classics" like x-metals did. IMO the Elite line was the last real collectibles with "Classic" potential. My only interest in current Luxottica Oakley products is in prizm lenses for custom cuts for X-Metals and PB1. Sadly, the ship has sunk

My sentiments exactly.

This would have been on the level, but never actually released though a few examples do exist. ;)
