Treatment - Baricitinib + Remdesivir
Baricitinib + remdesivir reduces mortality by up to 35%

Baricitinib plus remdesivir was superior to remdesivir alone in reducing recovery time and accelerating improvement in clinical status among patients with Covid-19, notably among those receiving high-flow oxygen or noninvasive ventilation. The combination was associated with fewer serious adverse events.

Lockdowns/Social Distancing Does Impact Case Numbers
First, it appears that lockdowns and/or individual decisions to socially distance produced a marked decline in new infections, as was the intended effect. New York does not appear to have achieved herd immunity to COVID19, although the large infected percentage may act as a headwind to further outbreaks there. Other states will likely benefit less from reduced population susceptibility, as New York had the United States' most severe outbreak to date.
• Second, the relationship between observed case counts and the true number of infections is so tenuous as to be useless for predicting or observing the trends in the true infection rate.
• Third, infections appear to have peaked earlier in all cases than case count data would imply. Furthermore, the level of agreement between the observed and inferred peaks in cases is an important clue as to the success of a state's disease surveillance regime—the closer the agreement, the more complete the surveillance of symptomatic cases.

Statins reduce mortality (due to anti-inflammatory effects) especially in diabetics

Treatment with statins was associated with a reduced risk of a severe or fatal course of COVID-19 by 30%, a meta-analysis of four published studies has shown.

In the analysis that included almost 9000 COVID-19 patients, there was a significantly reduced risk for fatal or severe COVID-19 among patients who were users of statins compared with non-users.

ACE2 Receptors - Upper Passages
The virus likely infects the salivary glands, tonsils, and tongue most because they have the highest levels of ACE2. In addition, the research shows saliva's role in COVID-19. In the salivary glands, the novel coronavirus can replicate and potentially lead to prolonged disease when infected saliva is swallowed and travels through the gastrointestinal tract or is breathed into the lungs, where it can cause pneumonia.

Respiratory Droplets Produced By Ordinary Speaking
Respiratory droplets are produced not only by coughing and sneezing, but also when speaking and simply breathing. Light-scattering experiments indicate that 1 minute of loud speaking potentially can generate more than 1000 virion-containing aerosols that may linger in the air in a closed, stagnant environment. These particles may accumulate in enclosed spaces with poor ventilation, especially when individuals are singing, shouting, or breathing heavily (eg, with physical exercise). Therefore, the commonly observed practice of individuals removing their mask when speaking is not advisable. With the onset of colder weather in the northern hemisphere, activities will increasingly occur inside, resulting in often-unavoidable congregating. Therefore, it is particularly important to continually emphasize the necessity of consistent wearing of masks, particularly in the indoor setting.
