Cautionary Tale

I think I need to let everyone know what happened with me in a recent transaction so people are more aware of potential scammers on here. I did a transaction with what appeared to be a veteran member on this forum; I had a "Buying" listing for a pair of Mars Craters and this member DM'ed me and showed me the sunglasses and everything and insisted on using Paypal F&F. Foolish me fell for it and sent the money, and not long after I realized he sent photos from a different listing of Mars Craters and I later found out his profile had been hacked. Luckily I was able to contact Paypal and they were able to get my money back. So long story short, even if whoever you're transacting with has 100% ratings and has been a member for years, take extra steps to ensure you're actually dealing with the right person. This is now the second time this has happened to me and I guarantee other people on here have fallen for this as well.

Unfortunately. This happened to me.
A long time veteran member with great history of selling. Scammed me/ripped me off.
What would have been nice. Refund me the entire amount or a partial refund…
The story is much too long to tell. It irritates me to even think about it…
I blame myself for not paying attention to the red flags.
Using his sister’s PayPal.
A space number in the trailer park.
A Rams fan.
A eBay store used for flipping Oakley
Etc…
Lesson learned.
I don’t get mad. I get even.
Fat boy can keep peeking out his trailer window. Wondering if today is the day.
Why you gotta call me fat? Oh wait, we didn't do a deal... Still why ya gotta call me fat? Shìt forgot again, we didn't do a deal. I'm gonna go eat some fruit loops.

Rule of FF... If you have never seen them comment openly and know for sure they are currently active then they are as trustworthy as a brand new member named @Crook McStealing would be. A FF transaction should be something that the voice in the back of your head stays quiet while you do it... if it says no then the answer is no.

And also... If they are a active member but suddenly sell a XX for $325 or a Mars for $250 and you think "dude done lost his ever loving mind." Then its not them... they are hacked!
