Eclipse 50th limited

Sooo, I thought about getting the eclipse 50 (even though they are one of the ugliest, cheapest dollar store looking pair that Oakley has ever made) just for the collect ability.

I mean they are "limited" to only 475 units WORLDWIDE. I get the email a couple days ago and kind of just forget to place my order. Ohh well, didn't really want these anyway as I pride myself in being a "no-shlef-whore" when it comes to glasses. I wear what I buy and use the product I paid for!

I go back and look today and they are STILL available on Oakley US!! Hahahaha. I'm sitting here drinking my Moscow mule at 10 o'clock at night and am thinking to myself, how bad does the designer of these glasses feel when they literally can't even move less than 500 units of the flagship anniversary model?!?!

I think the same thing when it comes to games like COD. How bad does the person who designed some of the classic s*it maps when they see the community constantly scoring to skip. It HAS to be a hard pill to swallow. Like I spent a year of my life designing this thing, and no one at all likes it lol

That's all haha, that's my rant 😁😁

I like it. Not to wear though. I didn't like the Mars, OTT, or Medusa much either when they were released. Many share my sentiment as they were slow sellers and took years to get any traction. Some things are meant to grow on us

Medusas are going for crazy prices now. That is true for most things. Back then things weren't selling/not popular only to get a huge demand decades later.

I bought a pair of these 50th Ellipses. I actually like the frame design, not so much the frame color, and I like the lenses. One thing that I think most non Oakley fans wouldn't notice on the Ellipse frame(normal and 50th) is the acorn on the frame, a nice nod to the old logo and a nice nod to their current campaign of rebirth and future genesis. It's also nice that they incorporated the multiple shilloutes of the frames on the box and bag, just like the 50th T-Shirt. I've worn this pair for about 10 seconds so far, I may wear it a bit going forward but it's mainly a display piece and looks nice in front of my X-Metals in the display case.

They look better in real life. Prefer the all black ones, but got a good deal on these
