Encoder/24k lens flare….

Hi. I just used my encoder 24k lens on the road for the first time. These will be my first prism equipped and gold lens. Is it normal to see lens flare with the gold prism lens? I’m trying to determine if it’s the lens design, gold coating or if it affects all prism lenses. I don’t have this issue with my old black iridium strike lenses. I see the lens flare during sunny conditions…car’s daylight running lights will have lens flare as they pass. (I’m on a road bike). You guys seeing this? I bought the encoders directly from Oakley. Thanks!

What does ‘lens flare’ mean? I’m not familiar with that term.

It’s this…Lens Flare in Photography: A Complete Guide it’s not as big or bad (or good if that’s the effect you’re trying to capture) as in photography but it’s there in my sunglasses….

It’s the first time I’m seeing this in a pair of oakleys.
