Fakes xmetals everywhere

Fake X Metals should be super easy to tell. Just weigh them. I have yet to see a fake X Metal that weighed under 50g. Most of the samples I've seen are so heavy you would never think they would be worn willingly by anyone.

That and the lenses. I have not handled a real X Metal, but I'm going to assume that like all other full frame Oakleys, if you gently push on the lenses they do not give. They should be firm, like a full unopened plastic bottle of Coca Cola. They should not be weak and pliable like a half empty 2L bottle of Coca Cola.

Heavy frames, weak lenses, seems to be the going combo on fakes. That and crazy small. It's not that the lenses or orbital is small, it's that the arms are stiff, made out of some type of pot metal (probably with a good bit of lead and cadmium mixed in), and sized for a 6 year old's head. I'm going out on a limb and assuming that real X Metal frames are easy for someone of small or average sized head to put on without trying to shimmy them down from the top of your head in a contortionist act akin to watching an obese person trying to squeeze into skinny jeans.

I almost hop on a deal last week that turned out to be a fake. The SKU didn't match with the frame colour and I hit the brakes.

For identifying fakes did Oakley etch their polarized lenses on the inside? I just had this discussion yesterday with someone on FB.
