Glasses other than oakley?

Here are a couple of models from the Revo NRGY line. Got these from their Labor Day sale for 35% off. Several of the NRGY models look like they could be from the old school Oakley lineup...definitely more interesting than the mostly bland stuff on offer from modern manufacturers, Oakley included.

Gravity -- just wanted to check these out in person, never intended to keep it. I'm sure these could be awesome on the right person in the right context, but it's not me. They do fit well and provide excellent coverage though. Nice lenses too. Probably a nightmare to keep them clean where the bars join the lenses.

Loop -- these are definitely more wearable for me. Tried the Driver lenses with gold frame since I did the blue lenses on Gravity. Excellent lenses and interesting frame, just seemed a bit underwhelming relative to the extreme avant garde Gravity. These are reminiscent of Oakley's classic Wires but more stylized. You might have to look beyond a quick glance, but there is a very prominent infinity motif going on. I might pick these up again the next time they do a big discount, possibly in a different colorway, but I sent these back for now.

I also considered trying out the Mark II but decided against it. It's the flagship of the NRGY line, very Oakley mad scientist.

I actually like the Gravity model! Sweet pickup!

I like the Gravity too in theory, but both it and the Mark II are just too Geordie LaForge visor-ish for me to reach for them regularly. If I frequented the beach or something, I could see wearing them for that, but there is no way they would see regular daily use over my Oakley collection and handful of less sci-fi non-Oakleys. Perhaps I will give it another shot in the silver or one of the black colorways when they do another 35-40% off sale. I think a lot of those models are fantastic values at the sale prices, hopefully they will do the same thing for Black Friday.

Yeah, I can see where you're coming from -- Gravity looks just a wee bit too out there for casual wear. I'd still do it though LOL, they look rad
