Help safety glasses racket sports

Hi from Spain! Im currently using a pair of Flaks. I play padel (very popular sport in Spain which is a mix between squash, racketball and pickleball). I have delicate eyes (retinal detachment and vitreous detachment).

I received a direct impact in my Flaks. They protected me but left me a pretty good wound under my eye.

I was wondering if there is any model with the lenses full covered that could prevent that. I have checked the Jawbreakers. Anyone else could tell what model is better for those kind om direct impacts with a ball?

Thank you

Anything with a full frame will be better if the concern is getting cut by the lens due to an impact.

I had a similar issue at work years ago. I was wearing my industrial m frames and was hit in the eye by a piece of metal that was kicked off a machine. It hit me hard enough that the lower edge of the lens cut a fairly deep gash in my upper cheek and left me with a black eye. Im not complaining because they saved my eye.

I still wear industrial m frames but I would say anything with a full frame would prevent that. Im thinking jawbreaker, new racing jacket, plazma, split jacket.

The guy at the oakley store was very honest: he told me that his advice is to keep using the Flaks or try the Radar, which its lense is 3 mm bigger. His point is that they are much more comfortable than any full frame model, specially because of the fogging issue.

He told to just accept the cut as a minor issue because my eye was saved.

I like the jawbreakers but do you think they will fog much more than the flaks?

Yes, I would say full frame glasses will most likely fog more. Unlike biking or running, you won't have air constantly passing over the frame pulling the warm humid air out. With a full frame that issue will increase as there are less paths for the air to leave.

One last question: do the full frame has anything to do with more or less sweat dripping in the lenses?

With my flacks, I feel that sweat is annoying. Myabe they are to close to my forehead. I dont know.

I dont think that would change. The old eye shade and m frame slash had foam at the brow to deal with that, full from or half frame, it'll be the same
