Hi Oakley fans

Thank you! My favorite everyday wear are my Jupiter squared and half jacket XLJs. I really love the radar path and Sutro and have several pairs that I use for biking, fishing, and skiing. I’ve always wanted a pair of x metals. With prices rising I might finally pull the trigger on a pair.
Welcome! Fairly new myself and secured a pair of X-Metal Juliet from the exchange here at a wonderful price vs eBay.

Hope you find what you're looking for!

Nice! I’ve been researching used Juliet’s and it seems like there is a lot to look out for. I’ve been hesitant to pull the trigger on a pair without being able to test the joints in person. What combo did you end up with?

Where are you located?

I purchased 2nd Gen, Plasma, Juliets and I'm very happy with them. The pair I purchased came with blue lens and black rubber parts, but I swapped everything out to green. Have a look here.

I was hesitant too because they aren't cheap, but the good news is that you can probably make your money back if they don't work out.

Wow what an amazing post and Juliet’s!! This post is exactly what I was hoping to find in this community. I am in NEO Ohio.

I’ve been considering making the jump with a “beater” pair of Juliet’s and trying my hand at fixing them up. I have so many questions.

Honestly how difficult did you find the process and how long did it take? Did you follow a tutorial? How much were the tools and replacement parts? And would you do it agiain?

I apologize for bombarding you with questions!

No need to apologize for asking questions! Questions are good.

Process difficulty: I like to tinker and I like to think I'm good with my hands (heh), so I found the difficulty level easy / moderate. Everything was easy up until I had to put the pin back. I pushed it out smoothly, but I couldn't get it back in. I didn't want to use all my strength, so I purchased the needle file set that you saw in my post and it did the trick.

Duration: If I didn't have to run to the hardware store to pickup the needle file set, I would say 1-2 hours.

Tutorial: Yes! I purchased all of my parts and tools (except for the needle file set) from Linegear! When you select your part, there is a "How to replace" button at the bottom of the product page.

Lopaka's DIY Garage has some good information too!

Cost: $183, but I purchased everything from rubber parts, screws, pins, tools, etc. I basically changed everything out from the original Juliets I purchased.

Would I do it again?: Hail yeah!

You’ve officially convinced me to try my hand at a Juliet repair!

Just a couple follow up questions

Do you think the pin removal tool was useful?

What stiffness did end up using for the nose bridge flex coupler?

Did you only need the needle file to remove the dirt from the back frame surface?
