What's causes new frames to go from snappy arms to loose within a few wears? My guess is build quality. For example I have like 10 Flak 2.0 xl. 7 of them still have tight arms and 3 have loose arms. Same with any frame that I have many pair of Radarlock, RJs, ect. At first I thought my head was stretching them out but that doesn't account for the pair that still have snappy arms. All my glasses are taken care of the same and don't go through any abuse. Has anyone else noticed this?

I notice that with some of my plastic frames. They're not as firm as they were. My guess is the build quality gets worse over time w/ use

Take the arms out and put a few coats of clear nail polish on the nubs but pbviously put them back on when it's dry. Somebody advised me to do this to make em tight again

My flak 2.0s purchased in 2020 are still snappy.

My Holbrook purchased less than a month ago are already loose. Quite annoying

It’s partly attributable to build quality; for example, molds might wear out over time. But just the mere act of opening and closing the stems wears down the material. That’s part of the reason why X-Metals have plastic washers at the hinges. It’s a sacrificial piece that can be serviced easily, plus it makes them open and close smoothly. Titanium on titanium wouldn’t be as smooth.

The Pit Boss 1 had this issue, the hinges would wear out and the stems would become floppy. In the Pit Boss 2, they added a metal spring in the hinge that keeps them snappy.
