So here is natural progression and the family tree of these lenses...
1. Oakley sunglasses is founded on the basis to fill a need in the X Treme sports crowd
2. Evolves into Frogskin styles which brought more need for clarity so mad science made what was at the time the clearest non glass sunglass lens hands down.
3. Oakley explodes and focuses around iridium with 3-4 base tints at most being used for all the iridiums.
4. HDO and polarization came into popularity along with more base tints and cooler iridiums like titanium iridium and chrome.
5. Lux steal Oakley from Jim
(This story of lenses splits at this point)
6. Jim starts RED, Lux take Oakley's newest innovation with prizm lenses and turns lenses into color enhanced special purpose lenses that can be hard to muddle through to find a good every day use one if you pay too much attention to the sport attached to it. Not to say Oakley today does not have some damņ clear lenses cause they do it is just not #1 priority in the development of todays lenses.
7.Jim spends valuable years developing lens technology for RED that far surpasses most anything else out there in clarity and HD and 100 other funny named technologies that make up those lenses then sell RED to Nikon once he has filled that hole in his life.
8. Jamin had come to age and Jim is ready to chill with the bytches and drink margaraitas more so he partners up with Jamin and they bring all that knowledge of both companies into MEx and make a lens that once again far surpasses any other on the market as though the Jannard legacy has come full circle and is going for a second round.
