The mag switch is indeed made of magnesium but it's not volatile or explosive as what people make it sound like. FYI i did try and ignite one of these frames for testing purposes. It didn't go boom, so don't fret it with contact with water. Even sparks won't trigger a chain reaction.
The problem is with the coating they used on the frames, which are not very durable and are susceptible to corrosion. Warm soapy water is your best way to clean the sweat or sea spray (if you use it at coastal areas).
