I always see people reference underrated frames, so I thought I would start a thread to get people’s opinions: ‘what are the most underrated Oakley frames in your opinion?

M-frames, half/flak jackets, radars, and x-metals all have been popular, but Oakley made some other nice frames that didn’t get a lot of attention.

My two frames are the sliver F and the Savitar. The sliver F is so incredibly comfortable and that magnetic case was awesome they came in. The Savitar is incredibly light and reminds me on the nanowire line, I wish Oakley would’ve put more cool colorways of that frame out during its duration in the line up.

What are your most underrated frames?

Hmmm....good post...and question. Certainly boils down to a matter of perspective I'd say.

I am also a fan of the Sliver F. Especiallly for traveling. I bought a Savitar, a Contrail, and an old Wire testing for that travel niche and ended up leaving them on a shelf in favor of the Sliver Fs.

Not sure if it's underrated or not but after MARS, and X-Metals in general, the Valve 1.0 is unquestionably my favorite frame.

Another that I quite like is the Plate...then you have the controversial frames like the Madman and Badman. I dig 'em as well...but not sure where they sit on the underrated scale.

Completely agree it’s subjective, that’s half the fun of why I started the thread! Thanks for your perspective!

Drop Point. Its a no-nonsense, go-anywhere-do-anything frame that feels sturdy and actually is extremely durable. Literally indestructible unless you run it over. I had mine fall from a 4th floor window, and the only damage to the frame was a minor scratch which got easily touched up. (Don't ask about the lens, though!)

Most importantly, it fits perfectly inside a helmet without hurting your ears. This is a dealbreaker for anyone riding a motorcycle. The Plazma, Split Shot, Turbine, Redux and many other 8-wrap frames don't fit well inside a motorcycle helmet.
