Kind of looking for some help here, I recently found a pair of oakley goggles that are called “______ XR” and they seem to be a mix of either a line miner or a fall line? I received them through oakley but I have never heard nor seen anything about them. Any help?

Please see O-Review you can go to this website and there is a data base of everything Oakley, this might provide you with the information your looking for? Hope this might help you.

Do you have photo of them you could share?

It looks very similar to a fall line, but you can tell at the bottom of the frame it is different than a fall line. And the bag specifically says “Line miner XR” and Ik it’s the right bag because it also says “team 2018” which is this color way.

Is it possible the bag could've gotten mixed up at the store you bought it from?

That looks like the Fall Line XM size wise, heres a similar size pair in a different colorway

Got a photo of the 'XR' aspect of i?

I previously own a pair of goggles in that colorways like yours, and from what I recall they were Oakley Fall Line 2018 Halo Edition in the XM aka medium size.

They use to have sizing XM - Extra Medium which later switched to M sizing, and XL which was Largest model later switched to L size.

The key difference between Fall Line is the frameless design where the lens is the final edge. Where as Line Miner has a surrounding frame that the lens meets.

I'd quite confidently say you have a Fall Line... the question is if they're the M size or L size, on photos they look nearly identical so it's hard to tell them apart. But the XM/M has a 40mm wide band, while the XL/L has 50mm wide band.

This review should help you better understand all the sizes and models

yea I guess I’ll give the full context, I have been working for oakley for the past 4 years, and I understand the difference between a line miner and a fall line as well as the old sizing chart and now the new one (that was hell trying to teach people the new sizing). And received a “mystery” pair at a very discounted price which all the proceeds went to a foundation. And from the looks of it you seem to be right, it’s the exact same goggle that you are showing, the only difference from new fall lines is that there are no punch holes in the bottom of the frame (shown in the first photo of yours). So I have a feeling I unfortunately got a bag that says “Oakley 2018 team edition line miner XR SAMPLE NOT FOR SALE” thanks for the help though def coming down to a conclusion. Still not upset at all given the fact how much I was able to get them for, but I do wish I got a pair that was never made into production.

Ahh sales samples are an interesting breed, not a rep myself but from my time collecting it seems they’re not always 100% like the production pairs.

I had bought a flight deck L a while back when they first came out from a ski shop employee really cheap because it was a sales sample and they said it was different I didn’t understand till I tried shopping for a replacement lens that fit a few years later. The lens tab slots on the frame didn’t line up with lens tabs location of the production model replacements.

I have a crowbar that is missing the fleece lining on the face foam because it was intended as a sample pair rather than be used on mountain. Otherwise it’s identical to a production model.

Have you tried seeing if a XM fall line lens would fit the frame?
