Poke a hole through the ballistic material. If it seals up perfectly, then it is real. The Icon 1.0 has a material that is self healing.
Honestly, take a pencil and shove through it. I know it sounds crazy, but I have a blue one I use for ice fishing and do it all the time with to show people. It's like magic (takes about an hour to fully "heal"
