Official Fakes/Possible Fakes Inquiry Thread (ARE THESE FAKE? POST FAKES HERE)

Collector (I'm not able to sell any of my Oakleys, seems impossible at the moment) but I bought it as a gift for my girlfriend - bought the moment after I received your kind reply, thank you. We don't see often Why 1 on the market, who knows why... On O-Review I saw that the release price was $250! I would like to find more information on the web, do you have any?
I don't, I'm afraid. From memory, I don't think they were a popular frame, but since they were meant for a smaller head/face shape(intended for women,....dare I say! ), they held little interest for me.

I've found that they were me in Titanium, and O-Matter, of course, interesting. Super light, just 17 grams. The nice price convinced me, would never pay much for something I'm not interested in wearing.

Looks good 👍
Tanks a lot for your kind answer.

I've asked the seller about the color and the answer was "titanium".

And reading the previous messages, its seem likens good time to ask: is there a "clear" name of the frame material/type for these two?:
-X-metal: its generally confused/ing with the "Oakley X-metal" denomination. From what I've read, it used to be called "black"?
-Titanium: the initial color if I'm not mistaken? Always called "titanium"?

The others are relatively clear (plasma, polished, carbon ,...)

Well, I think so - It's also fascinating owning some forgotten/less famous frames, or pretty different from everything else. Let's see how they will fit her.
So to answer some of your questions.

The Why 1 and 2 were generally considered underwhelming. The most desirable version , if there is such a thing, was the pale amber/leather gold pair as it seems fewer were made.

They are rather unique, as it seems in general not many were made. So if that kind of thing is what your into, then these will work. I myself have all kinds of styles that most collectors would never consider simply because they were weird or low production.

I owned a Why 2 for a short amount of time but sold it due to the ear socks being trash and there being no suitable replacments.

The "Why" series really starts and ends with the Why 3, from a collectability standpoint. It had the widest range of lenses options, most of which where rare. Unfortunately, most also suffered greatly from delamination, irreplaceable ear socks and frame hardware that would loosen up over time.

Well @MicahS thank you so much for the detailed answer and for clarifying the frame so precisely.
If, and I think so - I'm starting to get very precise in understanding how certain models look on certain faces, even without trying them on - they look good on my girlfriend, I'll give them to her, otherwise I think that for $90 it's not a bad idea to add such an unusual piece of Oakley history to my collection.
It's a real pleasure to be able to share knowledge and information with all the members on the forum, though.
