Where are the mods that are actually engaged !?!?

98% of the mod team are just dudes that don't even engage in this entire forum - the only way they know something is up is when they receive an email notification from someone who reported a post or tagged them...

We are looking at adding more mods for sure, but I’ll also say, the mods did respond in the thread, cleaned comment etc. very fast.

The challenge here was (and was likely planned by the scammer) that it happened on a Friday night / middle of the night. As Q mentioned many of us were sleeping and didn’t see it until we woke up. Definitely something we’ll work on but clearly made it difficult.

Not sure if the scammer was using a locked sales thread. But if he did, that's even more reason to think about doing away with that. I mentioned that if I had seen a 'PM' being sent by a member, I wouldn't even bother to send in a PM myself. But on a locked sales thread, there's is no communication like that, and every member looking at that bogus sales thread could be sending in a PM. Good deals are hard to come by and everyone tries to jump on them as quick as possible. The scammer knew this and took advantage of the OF system. Time for some change?

As far as I remember the scammer locked the thread after one or two comments. Therefore I absolutely support your suggestion.

It appears GH4AU was either drinking heavily or had a security issue. I have put a temp ban on that member until things can be sorted out.

I have also put a temp ban on Wavecloud as a precaution. At the time, I was unsure who was possibly compromised and took action to protect the rest of the community. If any one has outside communication with either of these members, please let them know.
