i was putting my son’s laundry away last night and found one of these guys in a box hidden in the corner of his drawer. I turn 40 in a couple of weeks, so I can only guess that it’s a gift from the wonderful wife. I feel like a piece of crap for finding it though.

Does it have the receipt if it were you I would put a plate of cookies and an empty glass of milk and whatever your son wants for Christmas on the dresser with a note that says thanks for the watch kid

Nice! I’ve always worn a watch, but never really cared too much about the looks or mechanics of them. Honestly, it was looking at this thread over the past few months that even got me remotely interested in watches, particularly automatics. Some of the ones you posted as well. I’ve already got another on the way

Seiko Alpinist would prob be right up your ally

Oh I like those and want a Seiko for sure, but I think it might be a bit small for me. The Orient is a 42.4. There’s a few more I’d like to get, but my eventual goal is the Hamilton Khaki Field 42mm day/date. Just gonna take it slow though!
