I've heard nothing but good things about Monta. Who makes their movements?

They use the Sellita movements but modify it for their needs. Monta calls it their MONTA CALIBER M-22

It’s a new band. It’s a bit stiff, and was pushing the casing up above my wrist. Just have it tighter until it forms to my wrist
