Why would he hack his OF account when he could just hack his paypal or amazon or ebay. So definitely the hacker knew his reputation on OF and knew about OF which is pretty rare among hackers i bet

I think there is a lot of merit to your argument of stopping thread locking. If I went to sales thread that wasn't locked, and saw that a PM had been sent, To me that's just as good as sold and I don't ever think twice about it. But with locked threads, PM's could be sent by everyone that's looking at the post, but one would know that until it was too late.
