That's interesting, Jon. Can't say I've studied the frames on the those, to notice a distinct change in the reflectivity of them. I'm not too sure it's not just wear, which has been caused inadvertently and 'buffed' the frame up.
You might well be right, Paul.
There is definitely a marked difference between the two and both are in near-mint condition, minimal use on both.
I gave them a thorough but gentle clean and the finish didn’t change so if that theory is correct then wear has changed the frames appearance quite significantly/permanently.
Like I said before both frames are lovely but the Matte finish wins it for me.
Sadly I don’t think I will see many more of these frames, never seen another one in the wild so the possibility/opportunity of any more comparisons in the future are limited.
Am i right in thinking you have “The Trio”, mate?

Would you say your Bronze Plate is a Matte or Gloss, dude?
I'd say, (guessing cos they're up in the loft) looking at the picture and the reflection of the other two compared with the bottom pair, matte.Similar threads
