Encoder lens change

Still unable to do it. It's extremely tight.
That's why I mention it would feel like your about to snap the lense in trying to get the arms off.
Bit of a combination move all in one to remove the earstem if I am correct, presume the same motion as the subzero earstem removal.

Push down and in on the arm while pushing up on the edge to disengage it from the lenses locking cutout. Gonna take a bit of brut force to get it over the lip of the cut.

The swapped spacedust encoder is mine. The TDF one on the first page is as well.

I'll be honest. Swapping them sucks...bad. Taking the lens off the temple corner can scratch the lens. Snapping it off like an evzero can leave dents in the edge of the lens where you need to pivot it off.

Putting the temple corner back on is even worse. It took me a while and I had to walk away from it a few times. Once you do, you also might damage the ears of the lens doing it, then your arms will wobble. I have no idea how they do this at the factory but I would guess it's mechanical.

Can you please show a video how did you remove it? Just the process. You don't need to actually remove it.

Um yeah, by no means use the arm as an actual leverage point for the push down-in-up motion 😊😊 either way it sucks pretty bad on how tight the tolerance is to disengage the earstem from the lense.

Should have said to do the push down-in and up motion only on the hinged part of the stem connecting to the lense.

Where should I put pressure on? The arms or the bands.
