Encoder lens change

The swapped spacedust encoder is mine. The TDF one on the first page is as well.

I'll be honest. Swapping them sucks...bad. Taking the lens off the temple corner can scratch the lens. Snapping it off like an evzero can leave dents in the edge of the lens where you need to pivot it off.

Putting the temple corner back on is even worse. It took me a while and I had to walk away from it a few times. Once you do, you also might damage the ears of the lens doing it, then your arms will wobble. I have no idea how they do this at the factory but I would guess it's mechanical.

Ok I am still unable to do it. I am not going to try it now. I might break it.
I just want to know that I want to buy a new pair of encoder Strike, between copper patina and fern swirl. Haven't decided which one to get. Since you have both, can you share some pics of both. I have to buy it online, so I have no access to try it before I buy. Thanks

I have done it a few times and its actually not hard. Just need to keep constant pressure. The way I recommend doing it is to hold the frame with your thumb on top of it, and sort of rotate it in a downwards and outwards motion. The trick is to maintain constant pressure and keep pushing until you think it may break them (it won't so don't worry about that), and then it will eventually pop out. Make sure to not hold the arms at any point because those will pop off.
