To prevent getting into trouble getting off topic lets make a thread for discussion on Guns and Glasses!!!! Why? Cause MERICA!!!! That's why!!!!
NOTE: No threats of violence in the topic... this is about self defense and sport shooting only! No one wants to shoot someone cause we are mad or anything like that please!
What do you carry?
What do you shoot at the range?
What glasses do you use when shooting? Since this is in the off topic thread you can show your non Oakley shooting glasses...
3 Great topics to start.... Now go....
The 3 fundamental rules of gun safety are: Always treat every gun as if it is loaded, keep your finger off the trigger until you are ready to shoot, and always keep the gun pointed in a safe direction.
Elaboration:
Never point a firearm in the direction of anything you are not willing to destroy or kill, even accidentally!
and
Where the bullet lands you are responsible for so be sure of your background and never point a gun in the air and shoot it over a long distance unless you have an intended target!
I must add as well that TRAINING with your weapon not only makes you better and capable of using it in a real situation it also makes you safer to handle the weapon in the field. If you have never taken any form of firearm safety courses then sign up for one before you pull the trigger for the first time. If you need help finding a course in your area you can PM me and I will assist you in finding a course. There are courses offered for all types of shooting but the fundamentals are the same. Do not consider yourself safe just because you read the rules of safety. There is nothing that replaces firearm training like having a range instructor help you learn.

The 3 fundamental rules of gun safety are: Always treat every gun as if it is loaded, keep your finger off the trigger until you are ready to shoot, and always keep the gun pointed in a safe direction.
Elaboration:
- Treat every gun as if it is loaded:

This rule emphasizes the importance of constant awareness and respect for firearms, regardless of whether you believe they are loaded or not. Even if you're sure a gun is unloaded, it can still be misloaded or have ammunition in the chamber, so treat it as if it could be fired.
- Keep your finger off the trigger until you are ready to shoot:

This rule reinforces the importance of trigger discipline. It prevents accidental or unintentional discharges by ensuring your finger is not on the trigger unless you are actively and consciously making the decision to fire. Your finger should be resting along the side of the gun or on the trigger guard until you are ready to shoot.
- Always keep the gun pointed in a safe direction:

This rule ensures that even if a gun discharges accidentally, it is pointed in a direction where it won't cause injury or damage. A safe direction means the gun is pointed at a location where no one can be hit, and it's away from anything you wouldn't want to destroy.
Never point a firearm in the direction of anything you are not willing to destroy or kill, even accidentally!
