Hello! I'm excited to finally own some cool sunglasses post-laser eye correction

Best of luck!

I had horrible eyesight (Near sighted 20/400 with an astigmatism) had Laser PRK at 45 years old and ended up with 20/15 vision (has stuck but gone down to 20/20 in one eye at 65 years old).

I have collected a host of solid Oakley and other sunglasses. Still need readers…but who the heck cares with 20/20 distance vision 😉

Juliet’s are a great place to start…and finish. All up to you 🪖👍

I’ve done Lasik a year ago and was glad that my wife finally talked me into getting it done. I forgot how good it was to have a good vision. Been wearing Rx since my grade school years and I am 43 now.

Same as you, I immediately went and searched for Oakleys to purchase as all of my prescription frames were all Oakleys. And then I remembered about the X-Metals. A year later and I am at my 9th X-Metal and never looked back.

Goodluck in your hunt on your 1st X-Metal!

If you are interested on my short journey to X-Metals, here is where you can read about it.

Thanks for sharing all these positive stories about lasik/prk. Definitely soothing my nerves a bit. We only get one set of eyes and blasting them with lasers goes against all of my reptile brain instincts.

The actual procedure is like 30sec to 1min each eye.

The preparation of the Lasik equipment was like 1 hour. Lol.

I have been putting it off for like 15years because back then, I believe they were using instruments by hand. Now, it’s all automated.

Hey all. I've been quite nearsighted for most of my life. I've finally committed to laser eye correction, 2.5 weeks away, which is opening up a new world of sunglasses to me. I bought a pair of used plazma's (verve collection with dark galaxy frames) so I'll have something to wear while my eyes are healing, but I don't think I'll be stopping there. I'm already considering tracking down an affordable pair of juliet's to try the x-metal series out. At any rate, I'm very excited to have my eyes corrected and I'm excited that I'll be able to try out some oakley's without splurging for fancy high-prescription lenses. cheers
I was in the same boat. I have a severe case of keratoconus (a corneal disease) paired with retinal macular degeneration in both eyes. So wearing standard sunglasses wasn’t even an option for me at one point.

I was fortunate enough to undergo cross-linking (2022 when I created this account) in both eyes to help strengthen the corneas, and now I wear scleral contact lenses which have given me the opportunity to see partially again. It’s been a tough road, but I’m grateful for the progress.

Happy to have you on board, and really looking forward to seeing what you’ll be adding to your collection. Excited to follow your journey!
