Maybe you can understand my ire, with a brand that, as you've said, just wants to churn out repeats: with crap QC.And Jim would come to your house and cook you dinner. Seriously though, the team had their own problems with limited editions way back in the day. It was rare and far between for ’limited editions’ and in true by-the-seat-of-your pants tradition within the team, sometimes things were adjusted to accommodate demand. one of the first big ‘limited editions’ was for the X-men movie. The team thought 5000 was plenty to meet demand and that was the number reps told everyone when they were in the field. That is where the number came from. Of course it sold out before the movie’s release and Oakley quickly re-adjusted to make more. If social media or forums were more prevalent for the Oakley collector community back then, there would be a firestorm as Oakley goes back to produce more of the Ruby Juliet in contradiction to how they originally sold it.
the big difference is Jim and team knew they needed longevity of the brand and product lines. To do that you needed to get product into the hands of the consumer rather than granting access to a very small number of fans. there is a recognition that you can’t just sell to 100 people and be done with it. Of course Lux has a different philosophy. they manufacture hype using some limited products to bring awareness, sell other stuff when consumers can’t get the limited stuff, sell at high prices, discount the remaining stock, rinse and repeat. It’s actually a very successful tactic at the business level but very forgettable at the collector level.
Yeah paulie gas was 1.50 back then, it was a distant memoryMaybe you can understand my ire, with a brand that, as you've said, just wants to churn out repeats: with crap QC.
Having experienced it at least once, when, back in early 2000s, you'd be able to get a replacement. Sent too you, cost free, with possibly a token 40% off your next O purchase. Customer focused sales, are but a distant memory.

Make us mad ? Kid you’re barking up the wrong tree. We’re not high school aged kids here. Jealousy doesn’t come that easy. If you’re after that kind of attention go flaunt things around the other kids at the kiddy table.eye jackets, plazmas, some other oakleys that i use for running. i’m not interested in buying second hand oakleys or getting taxed on the after market. i’ll gladly buy every new metal frames that come out though. multiples at that to make y’all frat bros mad.
and judging by ebay, i don’t think there is much of any secondary market for these at all at the moment. look at all the hype and talk about them and not a single sold comp. price of entry is too high and these ****ty sneaker reseller dorks will be stuck with these for a long time.Reasonable is whatever the market decides. Always has been, always will be.
