It’s of Celtic origin, you might have confused it with the Mexican Day of the Dead starting on the 1st Nov: Samhain - Wikipedia

Lots of influences from Dia de Muertos on modern Halloween though.
What came to mind thinking back on that paper I wrote about 2 decades ago was; Day of the dead in Mexico, Devil's Day, Pagans & Stonehenge Sacrificials, Lord of Halloween, and something with the need of Warding off Evil spirits that came out at that time.

So.. I had some key thoughts but not much else lol
 
Day of the Dead is awesome

Wife and I are celebrating all weekend here in Mexico City...

Today was "normal", but tomorrow there will be a HUGE PARADE, like the Thanksgiving Day Parade, but with Catrines and Alebrijes 🇲🇽
