Polishing my Romeo

I was going to contact fredam about his shiny Romeo, but I can't find him

So, I bought this recently because @pjd1234 has some amazing Polished Romeos and I want to work on one myself.

I know I work my way from lower to finer grit, but is there anything else I gotta do? Do I just go to work on the frame or is there more to it?
I had a pair of either bone or plasmas with some nasty corrosion spots. I sanded them by hand and with a lapping wheel for a few hours with high grit sandpaper. They had a distressed half shine which was kind of cool. I then lightly dusted them in my blast box to get rid of the sandpaper scuff lines to get this cool finish.
